Hello, my friend Reader,
I woke up this morning, and I just couldn't shake a feeling of complete unsettlement.
For three nights in a row, I had been having the same dream about the same person, over and over again.
Not someone I speak to anymore, but someone who was once a very big part of my life, and who hurt me on a level I had never been hurt before.
Face down on the floor, hurt.
It got me thinking, why do we have these dreams or thoughts about someone who hurt us so deeply?
It can feel like your own mind is torturing you.
For me, I was frustrated with myself because I didn't want to be giving this person any more of my attention or energy than I already had over the past couple of years.
But then I realized that the frustration and the terrible self-talk weren't helping at all. In fact, it was making everything worse.
I had a headache coming on, unwanted anxiety creeping in, and my whole day was heading somewhere dark.
So I did what I know best.
I slowed down my breath and started pressing on some acupressure points.
Within two minutes, I had completely shifted the entire trajectory of my day.
I want to share the two points that made all the difference because you deserve to have these tools too.
What is Acupressure?
Acupressure is an incredible tool you can use anywhere, at any time. No equipment needed, and the best part?
It's completely free. By applying gentle pressure to specific points on the body, you can calm your nervous system, shift your energy, and interrupt anxiety before it takes hold.
The 2 Acupressure Points That Shifted My Morning
Du 24 (GV 24): Calm Your Mind
Du 24 is my first go-to point when I'm stuck in my head and need to calm racing thoughts and that heavy pressure feeling in my brain.
This point is incredibly powerful for quieting mental chatter and grounding yourself back into the present moment.
Location: On the midline of the scalp, half a finger-width directly above the midpoint of the front hairline.
Place your finger at the very top centre of your forehead where the hairline begins, then move it slightly upward. Apply gentle, steady pressure with your fingertip for 2 minutes.
Kidney 27 to Kidney 22: Open Your Chest & Reset Your Energy
The second point or rather, sequence is on your chest, in line with my sternum. I make a gentle fist and tap along all the kidney points, starting at KD 27 down to KD 22.
This sequence is brilliant for releasing tightness in the chest, lifting mood, and resetting stagnant energy.
Location: KD 27 sits just below the collarbone, in the small depression on either side of the breastbone. The points run downward along the sternum, with KD 22 sitting at approximately the level of the 5th rib, still close to the breastbone.
Make a soft fist and gently tap down both sides of your sternum, starting just below the collarbone and moving downward in a rhythmic motion.
Repeat 2–3 times while breathing deeply.
Why I Use Acupressure Every Single Day
Acupressure is something I come back to every day for energy, anxiety, sleep, and calming my central nervous system. It's one of the most accessible forms of self-care I know, and moments like this morning are exactly why I'm so passionate about sharing it with you.
You don't have to let one difficult morning steal your whole day.
You have more power over your energy and your mind than you may realize.
All in good health,
Jeanette xoxo
P.S If these two points helped me shift my entire morning, imagine what a full practice could do for you. I work with people one-on-one to build a personalized acupressure routine for your specific needs, whether it's anxiety, sleep, energy, or emotional healing.
