Can you slow down for a second ( A little reminder)

Hey my friend Reader,

Let me ask you something.

Do you know anyone who won an award for having the most packed calendar?

Correct me if I am wrong, but neither do I.

And yet here we are, rushing around like it's a competitive sport.

I want to gently remind you that a busy schedule is not a badge of honour.

It is necessary to cut back on your to-do list and listen to your body.

Living at a rapid pace every single day drains our Jing, our life force. When that runs low, our qi (energy) suffers, our organs can't get what they need to function well, and surprise our hormones go nuts.

Stress and lack of rest are two of the biggest reasons hormones fall out of balance.

This is something I tell my patients all the time...

"Doing nothing is actually doing something."

When you stop, breathe, and let your mind go blank even for just a few minutes your body takes that as an invitation to recharge.

You'll actually have more energy for the rest of your day, not less.

But when we're constantly in a state of emergency. Our bodies respond with hot flashes, insomnia, anxiety, and weight gain. Not exactly the vibe we're going for.

Quick tips to actually slow down this week

1. Schedule "nothing" time. Put it in your calendar like a real appointment. Even 10 minutes of sitting quietly counts. You deserve it.

2. Say no to one thing this week. Just one. Notice how it feels to protect your energy on purpose.

3. Check in with your body mid-day. Set a reminder. Pause. Take three slow breaths. Ask yourself: how am I actually doing right now?

4. Honour where you are in life. Whether you're in perimenopause or full menopause, your body has shifted. You can't operate the same way you did before, and that's not a weakness. It is an new found wisdom.

Traditional Chinese medicine is one of my favorite tools for supporting you through this season of life nourishing your body and your mind, not just managing symptoms.

You don't have to white-knuckle your way through this.

Rest isn't laziness. It's medicine.

All in good health,

Jeanettexoxo
